The interdisciplinary Center for Educational and Higher Educational Research (ZBH) is an establishment of Mainz University focussing on structural aspects and current topics regarding the educational system. It combines social scientific expertise in the area of higher education research and co-operates with other relevant research institutes of the university and beyond. Accordingly, ZBH`s main areas of work are: the relationship between school and family, effects and improvement of all-day schooling, support programs in shools, teacher`s professionalism, lifelong learning, evaluation research and the development of control knowledge for improving the educational and higher educational system. Both fundamental as well as accompanying research projects are currently being conducted at ZBH.
