The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) is the superior federal authority within the remit of the Federal Ministry of the Interior responsible for asylum applications, protection of refugees, international tasks, promotion of integration and voluntary returns. In order to optimize performance, the BAMF maintains an information centre on asylum and migration containing a comprehensive collection of information on countries of origin and transit, world-wide refugee and migratory movements and their causes. These resources are available to help BAMF staff carry out their tasks efficiently and effectively.
