The Democratic Youth Associations of the Federal Republic of Germany have decided to found a project in the interest of a joint and decided action to oppose racist tendencies: They founded the “Centre for information, documentation and action against hostility towards foreigners and towards a multicultural future“ (IDA), now named “Centre for Information and documentation of work against racism“. Amongst the to date 28 members are Members of the German Federal Youth Ring, the German Sporting Youth, the Ring for Political Youth and organisations of young people with migration background. IDA is mainly supported by the Federal Ministry for family, seniors, women and youth. IDA is specialized in the following working areas: racism, right wing extremism, intercultural perspectives and migration processes in their relation to young people with and without migration background in Germany. One of IDA`s tasks is the support of the intercultural opening of established youth organizations and the empowerment of Organizations of young migrants.
