The Bundesrat is one of the five permanent constitutional organs of the Federal Republic of Germany. The others are the Federal President, the Bundestag, the Federal Government and the Federal Constitutional Court. The Bundesrat is the body that represents the interests of the Länder, or federal states, within this federal structure. It participates in the Federation`s policy-making and thus acts as a counterweight to the Bundestag and the Federal Government, whilst also serving as a link between the Federation and the federal states. The website provides comprehensive information on the organisation and tasks as well as links to related state, federal and Euruopean bodies. A French version is also available.
