"The International Meeting on Inclusive Education Frontera Sur took place on 13 and 14 December 2018. It was organized by the Zone 7 of the Ministry of Education in Ecuador. Around 5,000 people participated in face-to-face and virtual events.

The conference was attended by specialists in educational inclusion from Peru, Colombia, Chile, Spain, the Dominican Republic and Ecuador. Around 900 people attended the presentations in the theater and around 4,000 spectators followed the event live through the official pages of the Ministry of Education. Fernanda Yépez, Undersecretary of Special and Inclusive Education, said that during the meeting, topics such as the development of skills, life and work skills that recognize the diversity of a harmonious coexistence and inclusive culture were discussed, which has as its main task to ensure access and permanence of education for vulnerable sectors.

In addition to the lectures, discussion panels were organised after each presentation in order to debate and systematize the proposals by the attendees."
