"The 21st century has been marked by a multitude of profound changes. Global transformation processes and exceptional situations are reflected in all areas of society and are felt at various levels of coexistence. For example, crises such as COVID-19 and the associated consequences highlight and exacerbate challenges that exist in the education system (e.g. social inequality, globalisation). Education, training and teaching, as well as the associated research efforts, must respond to both current developments and future challenges. Social and educational policy changes, as well as developments in research traditions (e.g. the further development of individual methods such as participatory research approaches, greater intertwining of different methods) must be adequately addressed in the context of educational research. The ÖFEB Congress 2022 aims to provide an opportunity for discourse in order to take a differentiated look at current challenges at all levels from different perspectives."
