The German Education Server (Eduserver) is a joint venture service provided by the federal government and the Länder
Its co-ordinating office is located at DIPF in Frankfurt/M. and Berlin (DIPF). DIPF is a member of the Leibniz Association, and the service is delivered in co-operation with the Institut für Film und Bild in Wissenschaft und Unterricht (educational media institute) (FWU), Grünwald.
A government body representing the federal government and the Länder as well as experts monitors the Eduserver activities.

Project Development
The technical development of the German Education Server was sourced from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) from 1996 until 2002, subject to the "DBS 2000" project, and in cooperation with the association for promoting a German research network (Verein zur Förderung eines Deutschen Forschungsnetzes e.V.; DFN), at the Humboldt University, Berlin, dept. Education and Information Technology.
