European Schoolnet lists digital citizenship as one focal area of action. The aim of the EU  is to empower  citizens with respect to a responsible use of digital media and digital devices.  Particularly children and young adults who are vulnerable regarding data privacy, cyber bulying, detection of fake news  are targeted by respective projects, funded by the European Union.
