Das Institut für Afrika-Studien (IAA) ist das einzige Institut in Deutschland, das sich kontinuierlich und ausschließlich mit aktuellen politischen, wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Entwicklungen im gesamten subsaharischen Afrika befasst.
Das Institut verfolgt einen interdisziplinäreren Ansatz, wobei politologische, wirtschaftswissenschaftliche und soziologische Fragestellungen und Methoden im Mittelpunkt stehen.
