ESRAH, the Earth and Society Research Hub, is an interdisciplinary research center at the University of Hamburg. We focus on the dynamics between society, climate, Earth, and environment. How do we humans influence the Earth system – locally, regionally and globally – and vice versa? Climate change is a central, but by no means the only challenge that we want to understand and for which we want to find options for action: How can natural resources be used sustainably? How can necessary changes be shaped in such a way that they strengthen social solidarity? And how can societies become more resilient?ESRAH is home to the Cluster of Excellence for climate research CLICCS, “Climate, Climatic Change, and Society at the University of Hamburg.
