The objective of the Latin-American and Caribbean Pedagogic Institute (IPLAC) is the promotion of the professionality and the continuing vocational training of educators in Latin-America and the Caribbean in the field of educational sciences which is pursued by special programs for teachers, professors and directors of education. Furthermore, the institute contributes to the development of pedagogical, sociological and comparative education-scientifical research as well as to the fight against illiteracy and carries out basic education for the youth and for adults by implementing the Cuban programs "Yo, sí peudo" and "Yo, sí puedo seguir". The IPLAC stimulates the dialogue and the exchange of experience to favor the development of the consolidation of a pedagogical, Latin-American and Caribbean body of thought which is adapted to economic, social, cultural and political realities.
