The Council`s mission is to enhance quality assurance in education through standardized, validated and reliable high stakes public examinations which in most cases dictate quality curriculum instructions and to attain a full proof transparent system characterized by equity in allocation of students to the next level of education. Therefore, its objectives are to be responsible for National Examinations for the primary and the secondary level in Rwanda, to establish rules regulating the conduct of examinations and to uphold transparence in order to assure justice in the examinations` administration and other related issues, to award Certificates on Diplomas to successful candidates, to place successful candidates in different schools or institutions and the corresponding subject options in accordance with their potential abilities, to establish the equivalence of diplomas and certificates issued in Rwanda and elsewhere and to consult with those in charge of national educational programs and those in charge of national inspection of schools on matters concerning the implementation of school curriculum.
